These acts define the rules, requirements, and regulations for the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages regarding licensing, permitted hours, age restrictions, location restrictions, pricing and taxation, labeling and packaging, enforcement and penalties, responsible service, and control over-serve.
Smart Serve
is a program aimed to ensure that alcohol is served and sold responsibly and that those who serve alcohol are knowledgeable about the rules and regulations regarding the service of alcohol.

Sale of Permitted Alcoholic Beverages (e.g., beer, wine, spirits)
Selling under a Liquor License for Retail and ensuring maintenance
The drinking age is 19 or above in Canada.
Following restrictions on the hours during which alcohol can be sold or served.
Responsible alcohol service, including how much alcohol can be served to a customer and when to cut off service.
Follow regulations regarding where liquor can be sold, including distance restrictions from schools, churches, and other sensitive locations.
Follow rules about pricing, taxation, and the collection of state and local taxes on alcoholic beverages.
Ensure regulations on labeling and packaging are met.
What is not allowed?
Servers have the authority to limit or stop alcohol sales if they feel a customer is intoxicated as described in the Smart Serve
certification training.
No fighting, No drugs, No weapons on the premises. Buying alcohol for a minor or for any customer who has already been refused service is also prohibited. Servers will ask for ID and expected fake, altered, borrowed, or expired IDs will not be accepted.
